Please note:
Ruger has statrted
production of the 77/44 again. We will not stock host rifles, but will
suppress any 77/44 you send us.
The suppressor tube is 1.5” OD by about 17” long. The suppressed gun is only about 1" longer than a factory gun. A 4X Simmons .22MAG scope using extra tall Ruger scope rings is a nice scope choice, and is optional. This suppressed 77/44 has similar weight and handling characteristcs to an unmodified rifle.
We recommend an optional Douglas Match barrel
in a special 11:1 twist rate for improved accuracy over the
factory
Ruger barrel when using subsonic loads. Engel Ballistic Research has
developed a special subsonic 265 grain round for this rifle/barrel
combination that typically delivers ~ MOA accuracy at 100
yards. The CHrome Moly steel Douglas barrel can be chambered in
either .44 Magnum
or .44 Special, depending on your requirements.
A typical group size with the EBR subsonic with
the factory Ruger barrel is 1.5" at 50 yards. Upgrading to the
Douglas barrel usually reduces the group size by about 1/2 .
All suppressor
tubes are finished with Mil-Spec flat black baked phenolic resin.
Standard construction is 4130 chrome moly tube and 7075 aluminum
baffles and endcaps. We may be offering a limited number of
titanium tubes guns at extra cost, please inquire.
